Data needs somewhere to snuggle up to..
One clear trend coming out of this years survey is the keenness for more mobile applications (shocker #1) and more social media integration (shocker #2). Therefore it seems apt to remind everyone that all these wonderful Internet resident apps, objects, websites and databases need to reside somewhere. It’s a little like that scene in Enemy of the State where you dive down into the data path between the “eye in the sky” and the server with the whirring tape drive in the basement. Data has to live somewhere.

Being a demanding technological geek is tough, especially at Christmas, not only are you uber fussy about every gadget you get, you also tend to break down the technical specs of the each and every device or accessory you receive, wanting to know:
Does it fit well with your other gadgets?
Does it duplicate features you have elsewhere?
Is it unique enough to be worth your cold hard cash?
So it makes sense that shopping for said geek at Christmas can be stressful and quite hit or miss. Luckily there are the dream gifts (i.e. iPad or remote control iPad robot helicoptor). But if it’s not in the price range or you’ve already got it you’re left out in the cold.
